Today Kate Moss attended a memorial service for Dame Vivienne Westwood. The legendary fashion designer, best known for spearheading the punk fashion movement, passed away on 29 December 2022 in Clapham, South London, at the age of 81.
Moss, longtime model and Westwood muse, attended the funeral at Southwark Cathedral in London with her daughter Lila Moss. For the occasion, Kate wore black mesh leggings with a flowy black silk button-down maxi dress covered in a romantic rose print. Above, a black Westwood velvet jacket with large round orange resin buttons featuring the Westwood Orb branding.
Moss also completed the outfit with a black beret encrusted with crystals and a two-tiered silver chain with a pearl ball pendant.
Massive black platform pumps, another Westwood trademark, complemented Moss’ outfits. Her style includes rounded racks and toes, and a chunky inner base. Thick square heels totaling at least five inches tall completed the look, elevating the look in a nod to Westwood’s signature rebellious style throughout the label.
Notably, Leela also wears Westwood pumps: stilettos, platform soles that mimic the infamous buckled designer pirate boots; the same pirates that Kate has been wearing in biker boots since 1999.

The event featured several guests, many wearing tributes to Westwood, including Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs, Elle Fanning, Victoria Beckham, Christina Hendricks, Helena Bonham Carter, Dame Zandra Rhodes, Stormzy, Vanessa Redgrave, Nick Cave and Erdem Moralioglu . Also performing were Bobby Gillespie, Paloma Faith and Beth Ditto.
